Storyline:
In Canada, the writer visited the Indian narrator Pi Patel and asked him to tell his life story. Pi is a story of his childhood in Pondicherry, India, and the origin of his nickname. One day, his father, the owner of the zoo, explained that the municipality does not support the zoo and he therefore decided to move to Canada, where the family owns the animals also will be sold. They mount in Japanese freighter with animals and out of nowhere there was a storm, followed by shipwrecking. Pi survives in a lifeboat with a zebra, orangutan, hyena and Bengal tiger male named Richard Parker. They are behind in the Pacific Ocean, with aggressive hyenas and Rickard Parker hungry. Pi must find a way to survive.
