Storyline:
Suburban Virginia schools have separate generations, seeing the Washington Monument in the capital across the river. One black and white high school closed and the students sent to TC Williams High School by federal mandate to integrate. Year has seen the football team where the man hired to coach the Black school bus made a successful white eyes. Based on actual events in 1971, the team becomes the unifying symbol of the community, the boys and the adults learn to depend on and trust each other.
